Earlier this year, Project World Citizen Society received a grant from the Alex Trebek Innovation Fund to build a 2nd computer lab in rural Ghana which will help to improve IT and communication skills of residents. This project will help create sustainable opportunities in the region by focusing on education, training, and skill development. Residents can increase their employment opportunities by developing essential information technology and communication skills in a nation that is rapidly becoming an IT leader in Africa.
While the building costs are covered by the grant, Project World Citizen Society is searching for new and used computers to stock the facility that will soon be available to residents. A 40ft container will be leaving Vancouver in early August for Ghana, thanks to the Rotary World Help Network. If you or someone you know has a spare, functioning computer (including monitor, keyboard and cords) that you would like to donate to a very worthy cause please let us know as soon as possible.
Your support is greatly appreciated!
